JORGE RIVAS

Jorge’s journey began in a small town in Zacatecas, Mexico at age five. Over two decades, he has been active in performance, dance, and organizing cultural events. In 2014, he founded Ballet Bravo to express his artistry and foster cultural appreciation.

The company has participated in events like Downey Theater’s Day of the Dead, Lotus Festival, UNICEF programs, and produced the award-winning documentary Sin Cielo.

Specializing in folk dance, Jorge teaches in after-school programs, Parks and Recreation classes, and the Los Angeles Boys and Girls Club. He has collaborated with LAOPERA and worked with TV shows, singers, and performers, including at the Academy Awards for Coco. Recently, he established Youth Culture Moves the World, a nonprofit to support his students’ goals and careers.
